Calcinus exploratory

Hermit crabs live in empty shells of different marine molluscs in order to protect their soft abdomen. These crabs do not kill the molluscs in order to rob them of their shells, but rather continuously look for new empty shells. They change their “home” frequently as they outgrow their current shells.
