El Instituto Nazca participó en el Segundo Taller de Clasificación de Ecosistemas Marinos y Costero, en el marco del proyecto regional de Red de Información del Pacífico Sur en apoyo a la Gestión Integrada de Áreas Costeras (sigas en ingles SPINCAM), realizado el 27 de agosto del 2018 en la ciudad Guayaquil. El taller, organizado por la Subsecretaría de Gestión Marina y Costera, tuvo como finalidad el difundir el avance nacional y regional sobre la clasificación de ecosistemas marinos y costeros, recopilar insumos necesarios para llevar a cabo el análisis de usos y presiones de los ecosistemas marinos y costeros aplicados al piloto del Golfo de Guayaquil y mantener un espacio de diálogo y trabajo con los actores claves en la investigación y conservación de ecosistemas marinos del país.

Nazca represented the NGOs of conservation and research of corals of Ecuador at the Second Meeting of the Regional Initiative for the Conservation and Wise Use of Mangroves and Coral Reefs in the Americas (Ramsar Wetlands Convention, 14-16 of June 2011). This meeting gathered delegates from the governments of Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, Dominican Republic, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador, as well as various NGOs from the Region.
