Donax carinatus

These small clams can be very abundant on sandy beaches and can be found between the intertidal zone and the shallow subtidal zone.In this unstable habitat, Donax are frequently dislodged from the substrate by wave action, but their large feet enable them to quickly dig and burry themselves again.
